RefinedPower® RP II flow improver is the most widely used clean fuel products DRA in the world. Used in gasoline and diesel applications, it is formulated to be free of any elements that can harm fuel quality. At this time, DRA is not an approved additive for jet fuel. RP™ II is non-aqueous based. Low dosage rates provide high levels of drag reduction performance.
In 2008, LSPI introduced ExtremePower® Flow Improver for true heavy crude applications. Prior to LSPI’s commercialization of ExtremePower®, pipeline drag reducer technology had not been available for heavy crude applications. As crude oil gravities fall below 23° API gravity, traditional DRA usually becomes ineffective due to crude makeup.
ExtremePower® flow improver has proven effective in multiple heavy oil grades, including: Western Canada Select, Castilla, Merey, SJVH and Petrozuata. ExtremePower® flow improver can provide over 50 percent drag reduction in heavy oil pipelines operating in turbulent conditions. Drag reduction is possible in turbulent or transitional flow, but not possible in laminar flow.
Used in condensate and crude oils of API 23 and above, the LiquidPower® flow improver product line sets the industry standard for crude oil drag reduction and are the most widely used pipeline drag reducers in the world. LiquidPower® flow improvers can provide drag reduction of 80 percent or greater.
